After filming much of the prequels in Australia, Star Wars continues the “return to its roots” policy by opting to film Episode VII in the UK. While a specific studio location has yet to be announced, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy confirmed the decision stating, “We’ve devoted serious time and attention to revisiting the origins of Star Wars as inspiration for our process on the new movie, and I’m thrilled that returning to the UK for production and utilising the incredible talent there can be a part of that.”

All stemming from an IMDB post from a former employee of Lucasfilm regarding something Dave Filoni (of The Clone Wars) was working on. The ex employee does not say this is definite but it might shed a light as to what’s on their minds.

Obi-Wan and Darth Maul to head spinoff film?

Our source notes that the Lucasfilm friend who provided the information said the idea is being tossed around.

Set between Star Wars Episode III and Episode IV.

Said to feature Ewan McGregor reprising the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi in his exile on Tatooine.

The villain? Darth Maul hunting down his nemesis with a possible plot point involving a 5-year-old Luke Skywalker somehow tied into the story possibly as bait for Obi-Wan.

Episode VII To Feature Disciple Of Palpatine?
According to Cosmic Book News the latest states that Episode VII’s bad guy will be a “disciple of Palpatine”.
- Our source does state to take it as a rumor, though.
• Star Wars Episode VII will be set 30 years after Episode VI: Return of the Jedi
• It will indeed feature the Skywalker/Solo children coming to the peak of their powers
• The Jedi Order has been rebuilt with Luke Skywalker as Grand Master
• A disciple of Emperor Palpatine aims to rebuild the Sith Armies of the Old Republic and destroy the Jedi where the Skywalker children will be thrust into battle and face their inner demons of their Skywalker lineage.

George let’s the mouse out of the bag…
In an interview about Disney’s purchase of Lucasfilm, George let it slip that they had already signed or at least entered into final negotiations with Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford before selling the company. He backtracked quickly saying he wasn’t sure he was supposed to say that and changed it to saying he could only confirm that they were in negotiations not what the outcome was…
Right.
- “We had already signed Mark and Carrie and Harrison—or we were pretty much in final stages of negotiation. So I called them to say, ‘Look, this is what’s going on.’Maybe I’m not supposed to say that. I think they want to announce that with some big whoop-de-do, but we were negotiating with them.I won’t say whether the negotiations were successful or not.”
