Themes

Postby Lord Tuvitor » Tue Jan 22, 2013 9:36 pm

I'm adding some new themes to Phatooine today. Just some regular phpBB3 themes customized to our use. The first one available is a simple white/black monochrome layout called "Alpha" for those who prefer lighter themes over the current default 'lanparty' theme. I'll post more in this thread as more themes are added and readied.

Added "ca_gen2" theme. A very light and easy theme based on prosilver.

Added "CA Orbital" theme. Set to default because it's actually pretty sexy and appropriate for our site IMO.

After much consideration, Hermes has been set to default.

I think I like Hermes best but they are all excellent. I could see myself taking them all for a spin now and again. For default though it would be either hermes or orbital!

Personally, I think Hermes is the best. The color combination is quite easy on the eyes. I absolutely hate light themes. I spend so much time in front of computers that I actually prefer darker contrasts just to spare my eyes from the glare.

I think I've settled on the Hermes theme myself. Its colors 'flow into' the front page's color scheme almost as well as HBWinter's *and* it's easy on the eyes.

I'm liking the CA Gen 2. Colors and layout are in line with my general preferences for posting on a forum.

Hermes is pretty cool, although orbital is cool too.

I think it's because it's winter and dark and cold but I decided to stick with Alpha for now as it's nice and bright :)

I like Alpha for that reason and for its design. I use it from time to time, but I'm using Hermes at the moment.

It is very slick and nice looking. I showed Kim and she also loved it...now if I could get her back online now and again she'd tell you herself;)

I'm still on lanparty. Not only is it a bit darker, it's more simple than anything else out there. Once HB is back for good, I'll probably switch to that. In the meantime, I see no reason to implement one of the more "fancy" themes.

Hermes is the best by-far. Love the classic forum look. I like Orbital too, and that transparent background - so nice and refreshing. :)
