I thought it was a decent teaser....Didn't give away much and didn't even give us any shots of the big three but that's what makes a teaser...leaves you wanting more.

Just seeing the Falcon in flight again with John Williams music was enough to get me excited :)

I like they didn't show the big 3. Like you said, leaves you wanting more, and also gives the impression that these are new characters we'll be getting to know and follow.

I agree. We (presumably) see the whole next generation in Boyega, Ridley, Isaac, and Driver (he's the saber-wielder, right?) - we even got the new sidekick droid!

Loved the teaser. Looks fantastic. And, if I can, I'll once again spoil myself silly. ;)

Loved the trailer. Was ordered to replay it 5x by my 4-year-old ... was still cool the fifth time :)

My (not-so-little-anymore) one was excited by it, too. And she's totally into Rebels. Which means she'll be primed for a trip to the theater next December. :D

Is anyone else still kind of accepting the fact that there will actually be more Star Wars movies? Until the trailer was released, there was a part of me that thought this was just a big joke on the fan boys.

At this point, I'm all-in. It does seem a bit dreamlike. I do wonder how well the films will add to the overall mythos of the Star Wars universe. And there is an odd surrealism to the fact that George Lucas isn't involved. But the way I see it ... this is all icing on the cake. No matter what we get, it's more than what we had. So I've totally accepted that not only are we getting new Star Wars, we're getting someone else's take on the story as well. So even if the result is a wildly different interpretation, I plan on enjoying it for what it is, rather than on what Star Wars has been.

I'll be honest, I'm glad Lucas isn't involved in the future of Star Wars. Can't knock his vision but cinema as a medium has moved on... and there was a LOT wrong with the PT.

Here's hoping Disney treat the franchise well. Lining up Rian Johnson for Ep 8 gives me hope.

A New Hope, mayhap?

I agree, though, that Star Wars is at its best when someone else (Kershner, Filoni, Abrams, etc.) is interpreting George's overall vision (keeping in mind the value of the original vision).

I guess I'm the only one who doesn't like the trailer. Hated the first 5 seconds. It looked too fan-made for me.

I didn't love the trailer. I didn't hate it. Kind of a mixed bag here. I thought the first part with Boyega "waking up", the spinny droid, and Daisy's speeder looked dopey. What I loved were the stormtroopers, the X-Wings, and the Falcon/TIES.

I'd (almost) been taken in with a fan trailer the day before (the same one Rolling Stone got taken in by), so yeah, when I first saw the legit version, it din't exactly feel "official." But having rewatched it a number of times, I think it's brilliant.

So, for fun, I still have Crackie's Aleister (?) CD in my car and popped it in to listen. Still thoroughly enjoy the emotion in his songs and surprised at how many of the lyrics I could recall. That CD has to be..10 years now?

Older than that I'd say. I made my recordings around 1999 and his was done around a similar time I think...I could be wrong though!

Not too shabby! We moved into a new house during the summer - still organizing things et al.

Kids are getting...old...14, 10, and 8 now. Yup the Phat baby is now 8...and considering joining up here...although it's less out of Star Wars love and more out of loving the idea of forums. :P

Rogue is doing well - she had hip surgery due to some impingement on her hip...years of being double jointed and a cheerleader...(yes insert all innuendo jokes here at will) but she's getting better as well.

All in all it's well :) Hope you are doing well as well!

Hey-o EP! Whatsup?

Sox, that's pretty awesome to hear; holy crap kids got old (I guess we all did). Hope Rogue recovers from surgery soon, that's never any fun.

Things are going well. I somehow fell into a career and got married to quite a nerdy lady. Life came together pretty well, knock on wood. Hoping on saving up for a house in a few years.

Moving must have been fun :D

Hey KK! Congrats on the nuptials and career! Good to hear! I just bought a place myself, so when you do ... be prepared for LOTS of paperwork and hassle from the bank (and don't take their nonsense too personally).

Otherwise, I'm within a handful of classes of finally finishing my Master's degree.

Oh, and I've transitioned from teaching Middle School to Elementary school (3rd grade). I have a new position, with my own class, that'll be starting in the New Year. So that'll be noteworthy (and fun ... that age is a hoot).

Other than that, I've been trying to keep active and creative. Anything to keep life from being monotonous.

I love the idea of potentially corrupting your 8 year old. I would take him on as my troll Padawan.
