Star Wars in 3D

Who actually went to see TPM in 3D? I for one did not. It marked the first time I did not go and see a Star Wars related screening.

And with that being said, I bring to you the release dates of AotC and RotS

I saw TPM in 3D. The 3D element wasn't really a big deal for me, and it really didn't add to the film in any way (nor did it detract, really). The best part was simply sitting in a theater watching Star Wars again. Heck, at that time, who knew if there'd ever be another one? AOTC in 3D was planned, but not necessarily a sure thing.

For the record, I thoroughly enjoyed myself (and the company I was with) - and will certainly make time for AOTC and ROTS.

The real question, for me at least, is will they release Ep. IV-VI before the new saga? I certainly hope so.

I hope so as well. They might have to rush a bit but I think they've been in development for a bit. Perhaps all 3 in 2014 to get ready for 2015...or perhaps VI in January or February of 2015

The flicker of 3D always gave me headaches. (Though I'm going to give the 48fps Hobbit 3D a chance)

I saw it. I didn't see TPM in the theater the first time around.......I was busy having babies and such. I enjoyed it....even the pod race, which I usually don't care much for. The 3-D element made the pod race better in my opinion. If the movies are in the theater I'll be there to see them.

Sad, I was looking forward to some of the OT in 3d and I don't even know what has been released in 3d so far. :|

"Lucasfilm was planning on subjecting idiots with loose wallets to re-released 3D Young Anakin."

A tad harsh. And I'll miss being able to see the rest of the O6 on the big screen in the next few years. But I can certainly understand the rationale. If I were Disney, I'd be putting all my resources in moving forward, not looking backward.

Though, this does beg the question: Will Disney ever release an HD version of the original, unedited Star Wars from '77 and give the Die Hards what they've been longing for?

I was looking forward to it as well. Especially since I could bring my youngest to see it on the big screen! Sad. But maybe it will happen for an anniversary or something....

I do think Disney will give in and give an unedited version eventually...but it might wait til GL joins the Force :P
