In here we discuss the ongoing animated Clone Wars saga.

Will it move from Cartoon Network to Disney XD? What else happens?

A few years ago I interviewed Brent Friedman for his work on Gemini Division (starring Rosario Dawson), who has now written several CW episodes. Nice guy - and he gave me some fascinating insight into the process of creating Clone Wars episodes (long story short: episodes are written almost a year in advance of the air date) at Skywalker Ranch. I hope Clone Wars continues for as long as it maintains its high-quality levels of storytelling.

I've highly enjoyed the Clone Wars from the beginning. There have been some questionable concepts such as the return of Darth Maul...and Darth Maul's twin brother but even the questionable concepts are handled well :phat:

Agreed. I'm curious if they will have Maul confront Sidious. And will they have Obi-wan kill him again?

Also, how will Ventress come to her end.

Love the clone wars tho. Great idea done well.

More Star Wars.

I heartily agree. That is one of my all-time favorite saber duels ever. It's nice to see Sidious' saber skills at their best.

I'm definitely looking fwd to this one. The last arc with the droids and diminutive colonel got on my nerves a bit. It would have been a good one off but for a 3 piece or whatever it was? Too much...BUT now it's gotten back on track with this last arc

This is really picking up again. As I mentioned previously that droid arc was long and drawn out - THIS episode was a great step forward and the finale is really looking up!

Loved it.

After the Sidious vs Windu debalcle, I wanted to know how he would fare against his own apprentice, this did not dissapoint.

It's because of stuff like this that I love the clone wars.

Season finale this Saturday. Only 20 episodes this season while seasons 1-4 had 22 of them.

Here are the previews to the season finale:

BTW, it's looking like to me that Barriss Offee is behind all of this. Once it was revealed that Ventress isn't (my first suspect), Barriss became my next.

I had a hunch about Barriss early on. This is a good way to get Ahsoka Tano out of the way of Order 66 for any in-between TV sagas and possibly even Episode VII. I think it's also helped sour Anakin on the Jedi Order itself.

I've really noticed how much darker Anakin's gotten of late.

So there's a report going around that Clone Wars has been canceled. Is this specific to Cartoon Network (meaning it'll continue on, say, Disney XD)? Or has the series been given the ax?

For perspective, from a March 6 interview with Filoni:

IGN: There are so many questions, obviously, about the future of the show, but back last summer at Celebration, you talked about work being done on Season 6. We know that there are completed episodes that we haven’t seen. Might we get an announcement one way or the other about when and where we’ll be seeing that, any time soon?

Filoni: [Laughs] Well, that’s the interesting part, this wait-and-see thing, I know, for fans. But there are more stories to tell, and as I’ve said, we’ve been working on them for awhile. I’ll be excited when we can share more details with you about that, but at this point, there isn’t really much I can say. Unfortunately, that’s all I can say. Sadly, for you guys. [Laughs] I see cool stuff every day… it’s totally unfair!

IGN: That’s very encouraging, because there are some more extreme rumors saying, “The show is over!” But I kept thinking, “But they’ve been making episodes, so that can’t be the case!”

Filoni: Right? Always in motion is the future. This is where I can be very vague and quizzical. [Laughs]

link

My interpretation: That sounds like someone who doesn't think the series is going to end ... but might undergo some changes.

No way it's over. It's been marketed very well and I would bet makes a ton off of merchandising. I think it's over at Cartoon Network and we'll see it vault over to Disney XD or whatever.

The voice of Ahsoka Tano also had a very recent quote attributed to her that the show had many more stories to tell and they would be told...or something to that effect.
