The Death of Han Solo

The Death of Han Solo

Postby McIntyre4077 » Sat Nov 24, 2012 7:23 am

I just read Entertainment Weekly's expose on Ep 7. They had a funny little section on how Han Solo should die if he gets killed in the next trilogy.

Any serious speculations? Any humorous speculations?

I would venture a guess that Jabba's hit list survives him. A thug like that probably had stuff in his will for a loyal hit man or two.

Maybe Palpatine's Clone (or Darth Whoeversnext) will kill Han with force lightning as he tries to turn Leia to the Dark Side.

Much like I wrote in one of my fan-fics...Han sacrifices himself by flying the Falcon into an oncoming enemy ship allowing his friends the space to escape...

That'd be the most profound way for him to go.

If they kill him, he has to die being a hero, kind of like the way they killed Captain Kirk in Star Trek Generations.

The thing I always liked about Solo is he knew his duty without question when it came to the enemy. My favorite scene with Han Solo was always when he was surprised by Vader on Bespin and without hesitation he drew his blaster and started firing at Vader, no questions asked.

Viva Solo!

First, Harrison Ford has to agree to do the movie which I'm not sure he will.

Entertainment Weekly has made mention that Harrison was actually open to returning...it's not a lock but it is better than I would have thought...

Just putting his name on the one-sheet is worth a few dozen mil, at least.

Why does Harrison Ford hate Han solo so much anyway?

Well I never heard he hated him as much as he preferred Indiana Jones. From what I remember it was less hate that made him wanted to kill Han and more he thought it was the best arc for the character.

He felt after Empire there was nothing left for the character to do but get in the way of the lead, Luke. Whereas a death could mean something big for the character.

Considering that Harrison Ford has a "gigantic role" in Ep 7, the focus could be about him. Whether or not that means he'll die is another matter. I don't know how I feel about him dying, though. If he is, I wanna see him, Lando, and Chewie go out in Butch & Sundance fashion.
