Meh. It's not horrible. But it implies that the Force was taking a nap during episodes 1-6?

I can see Episode 8 now: "The Force Takes a Power Nap and Then Chugs a Red Bull (brought to you by Red Bull)"

I think it's fine. Honestly I couldn't care less what it's called as long as it's called Star Wars. Perhaps due to the fact that the at the end of 6 there was only one Jedi left (technically), bringing back the Jedi Order could be likened to the Force becoming more awake and alive as people are allowed to interact with it more so to speak...

Doesn't make a lot of sense--maybe the movie will explain the title. Just because there was no central Academy seeking out and training force-sensitive beings doesn't mean the Force was "sleeping" all this time...
I never underestimate their chances.

I agree, it's not a perfect meaning....it'd be quite a leap equating the Force with the Jedi or Force sensitives. My thoughts were less about an academy seeking out...more that with there being only 2 sith and that the sith had been hunting down all jedi and force sensitives - VERY few people would be interacting with the Force.

Maybe they are trying to say (whether it's stupid or not) without interaction, The Force is more of a dormant (though alive) field of energy - and with more interactions it would be more active (or awake) so to speak.

Or maybe the Wonder Twins will be in Ep VII (Force Powers Activate - Form of Clone Emperor). :P

I'm sure a trailer will better explain the title. Just like the other Star Wars movies did. All I care about is a good movie. Don't care about the title.

Maybe it's more about the force Awakening in someone specific, or a group of people. Since Luke brought the force into balance by destroying the Sith, it could be that the "living force" took more of a passive role in the universe. Especially if the rumors of Luke being in seclusion at the start of TFA are true.

The rise of new dark side persons or other dangers could stir the force back into a more active role.

Sort of like a dragon that has been resting, then someone stumbles into his cave and ......bazinga!

Just my 2 cents.

Well the new trailer helped to give more meaning to the title.

Based on the hints and rumors thus far, I like the title and think it works quite well.
If you ever have the chance for redemption, take it. Without hesitation.
