looks like a nice amalgamation of OT/PT.

I fully admit I had an emotional twinge of nostalgia when Han showed. I am getting a bit excited :D

I couldn't be happier about how this film looks so far. Coupled with all the rumors about the plot, I have a feeling that JJ & Company are writing a love letter to everything that is good about Star Wars. Hopefully their execution matches their enthusiasm.

I've read debate on whether the dialogue ("The force is strong in my family..) was lifted out of ROTJ or re-recorded. Mark Hamill confirmed during his Celebration VII panel that it was re-recorded.

Another debate was on whether the quote "You have that power, too." confirms a Skywalker grandchild. I tend to believe the rumors that [Kira] Rey [Solo] and Kylo Ren [Solo] are the offspring of Leia and Han rather than of Luke and a currently unknown woman. This would still make sense within the framework of "The force is strong in my family" - nieces and nephews count, and are still direct grandchildren of Anakin Skywalker.

BB-8 is a rock star. I can't believe it's (he's? she's?) a practical/functioning prop. The Chrome Trooper [Gwendoline Christie/'Captain Phasma'?] looks badass. Poe Dameron sounds like he'll be fun based off of Oscar Isaac's comments at the panel ("He's the best damn pilot in the galaxy!"). I wonder if the little orange alien handing the saber to, presumptively, Leia is Lupita Nyomg'o's 'Rose'. The Falcon looks great in action - as do the First Order's (confirmed via Celebration photos) Storm Troopers. Kylo Ren looks like a rage-filled motha.Obviously tears of joy at the sight of Han & Chewie.

My expectations are high. I don't think we'll be lamenting getting our hopes up.

Mark did confirm that? I missed that. It seems like the same dialogue (even a young sounding Mark) just put through some remixing...

Mark's voice does sound younger than I expected, but the cadence and, especially, the final line, suggested to me (for whatever that is worth :))) that it was a new recording.

Either way, I agree with Aviator that this feels like a "love letter" to fans and is being done with a serious and sincere intent to create a film worthy of the "Star Wars" moniker. Whether the result matches that intent remains to be seen ... but well ... so far, so good ...

It did sound slightly different and I thought it was at first but then I went back to the ROTJ recording and thought it was pretty close to spot on (especially with the father "has" it, not had it...etc.) Perhaps there is something lost in translation. Perhaps the first part was ROTJ and the last line...the YOU have that power too was newly recorded? Hmmm.....Not that it matters a ton - it worked either way!

I would agree to the love letter thing as well. It wants to be worthy - it seems to want to bring back the love that the OT got but not overtly which is a good thing...it still could completely crap out but I agree - so far so good...

One thing I must say - is that it was a subtle stroke of brilliance having both Rey be a scavenger and Kylo being a relic hunter etc...it makes it make sense storywise to see all these bits and pieces of SW lore from both the films, and even an EU bit as a nod to the fanbase at worst and even to really bring the whole universe together in a good way (not like say...Anakin making C-3PO kind of way :P )

Seeing Anakin's saber really helps bring it together. Seeing the Vader helmet...seeing something that looks like Darth Plagueis' staff, etc. What else? Kylo's mask is reminiscent of Revans...there's a lot there that could be seen as in story nods to a fanbase that WANTS to love it. So we'll see!

I must say i'm encouraged by this Teaser. The tone seems just right to me and hopefully we'll be in for a real treat here.

To me, the most interesting aspect of the trailer is how it seems to confirm a lot of the previously leaked plot points. Very cool ...

True - I've been avoiding the BIG leaks...some full story points are out there - but all the little leaks that I didn't avoid...have been spot on

If I were an enterprising young man, like I was in aught-3 I might be tempted to write a spoiler-based script.

(un)Fortunately, I am no longer any of those things. :))

Forcegasm!

I first saw the whole trailer today, and I smiled like a mad man. People walking towards me might've thought I was crazy. But I only saw the the new Star Wars trailer for the first time.

Already seems better than the prequel trilogy. Got a force one.
