Best books of the 21st century?

Postby rogue0208 » Mon Dec 17, 2012 2:21 am

I see these lists everywhere and I rarely agree with them because I feel like many of them are missing a lot of really great books.

So, let's make our own list. Best books published since 2000.

The entire Harry Potter series (even though the first 3 were published prior to 2000, I still think they're largest impact was after the millenium)

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

A Monster Calls

Seriously. Look it up. Read it. Immerse yourself in its art. It's fucking amazing.

Wow, that artwork is amazing. Added to the Goodreads list (along with the Night Watch series)

^ Make sure you get a copy that incorporates the artwork. And make sure you finish it in the privacy of your home. I finished it on the LIRR and everyone around me was wondering why a 30something guy in a shirt, tie, sportjacket and overcoat had suddenly been reduced to a blubbering idiot.

That's what my therapist said. Before I decided he was merely a figment of the imagination and ignored him. :p

These days most of the things I read are either from the 18th, 19th or mid-20th century :/
