Noteworthy Lines from Songs

Postby Scarlet » Sun Dec 30, 2012 4:01 pm

Not entire lyrics of songs, but lines, phrases, or wording that stand out for you for whatever reason.

From Falling Away with You, by Muse:
"Staying awake to chase a dream"

A simple line, but one that so eloquently and concisely captures that post-dream semi-awake state of mind, when you're trying to place into memory fragments of dreams you know you'll lose if you fall asleep again, or trying to continue a dream from which you have just awoken.

From Hoodoo, by Muse:
And I've had recurring nightmares
That I was loved for who I am
And missed the opportunity
to be a better man

The curse of peaceful or contented stagnation.

Evergreen Terrace - Chaney Can't Riff Like Helmet's Page Hamilton

"You get what you pay for."

"Through black and blue, through thick and thin, it takes much more to break this skin. Look like we finally made it."
Fairness is equal opportunity, not equal outcome.

Muse! Great band.

I've always liked:

The dream of the the hope of the man

- Queen - A Winter's Tale
The key to immortality is first living a live worth remembering
