This is a thread for an photog enthusiasts out there. A few years ago I bought myself a Canon Rebel T2i and have thoroughly enjoyed the process of snapping photos and then "developing" them via Lightroom and Photoshop. This thread is to share and critique photos and discuss techniques.

My own photog site is here: http://dauntlessmedia.zenfolio.com

Wow, great photos Sam! :ymapplause:
The one of the tree reminds me of the view from the escarpment looking down on lower Hamilton.

Thanks, Willa! The tree is from Thacher Park in Upstate NY. And, actually, is the real-world inspiration for the Edge of the World setting that appears in my novel.

Well, sometimes Hamilton does feel like the edge of the world. :p

And the cat is gorgeous. I love how the shadows fall on his face.

Thanks!

It's from about 5,000 feet up, over the Adirondacks on an early-morning Albany-Ogendsburg flight.

I love the train station. Probably because I commute by one daily and I feel that they're not taken in for the beauty that they are - thriving, busy places that are the heart and soul of transportation of thousands of people. Without them... well, I know life would be hairier for many people. To catch one with so few people around is always a quite rare feat (at least here). The contrast in colour is quite brilliant between the movement and static areas. Good work.

I like how you use the focal length to change the depth. Not too many people notice the depth cues, but changing the iris, gain, lighting and just waiting for the good shot change things considerably.

Hopefully you aren't using the auto-focus anymore.

I am absolutely the same way! Snow is beautiful while I'm looking at it in a pic or through a window where I'm warm :p
