Legend of the Batman

Postby Viper » Sun Dec 16, 2012 5:11 am

I haven't written much these days (been so insanely busy), but not too long ago I cranked this out and thought you guys might like it. I do intend to finish it at some point when life isn't too hectic.

Here's the link to the homepage:

And here is the first chapter:

Intriguing start. Like the twist of setting the story years after the legend. Of course, having Gordon's son be the POV is interesting, too. You should definitely continue this.

Thanks. I love writing fanfic. The idea for this was to focus less on the ninja fighter aspect of batman and more on the worlds greatest detective aspect. Plus, I'm toying with the idea of a period piece, making the time frame back in the 60's give or take...maybe even further back. The 20s would be cool given that was the era of gangsters, but not sure I could make that work.

It definitely has a retro feel to it already. You could make it anachronistic (kind of like what Burton did) and pull together the best elements of the 20s, 60s, and even say the 80s or 90s. The problem with expanding beyond the 90s is that the detectives will have to increasingly rely on technology (smart phones) which I don't see as being an especially cool Bat-gadget. :))
